Using unofficial BMP maps is LEGAL.

There are two different types of EL maps:

• ELM map
• BMP map

ELM stores info aboud 3D objects, paths, items, textures, animated sprites and so on. All that is needed to create EL world. Making ANY change in such file (i.e. by using map editor) and using them in the game is ILLEGAL.

BMP files contains only image informations - pixels and their properties. Nothing more. Using unoffical BMP files is LEGAL

There are, of course, some restrictions: if you're using unoffical maps (or texures and other bmp files) - DO NOT report any problems related to them to the offial EL Staff (Moderators, Helpers, Administrators, Developers etc. etc.).

Remember: you're using them at your own risk.
